The Gaiety Theatre today unveiled its programme of events for the first half of 2006 with tens of thousands of brochures being distributed nationwide to patrons. 2006 marks the 10th Anniversary for John Costigan both as Managing Director of the Gaiety and producer of Ireland’s greatest traditional pantomime and John was delighted to introduce another exciting and varied season of theatrical entertainment.
What a way to celebrate the first performance together of these dames of the stage and screen. Eileen Colgan’s recent theatre and film work includes Tara Road, Angela’s Ashes and The Matchmaker (Tivoli).
Fair City’s Joan O’Hara has worked in theatre in Dublin, London and New York and credits include The House of Bernada Alba and The Colleen Bawn (Abbey Theatre). Joining these three dames is Steve Blount playing the girls’ nasty boss. Steve has recently returned from a national tour of Melody that also played at the Sydney Comedy Festival.
Adele King (‘Twink’) makes her long-awaited return to the Gaiety stage in February in this wild and daring new comedy about a trio of 70-something cleaners facing the axe who devise a daringly naughty plan to make a little extra cash on the side…..
